4th European HRSG Forum in Amsterdam
From April 16 to 18, the Heat Recovery Steam Generator Forum discussed the current issues related to HRSG, especially the impact of operational changes due to the fluctuating energy market, e.g. frequent starts and stops, short term availability, or partial load operation and technical challenges. One of the main technical challenges is a risk of damages due to increased mechanical stresses. The realization of an efficient chemical conditioning of the water/steam cycle were in the focus of the presentations and discussions. Thereby film forming amines are an excellent solution. Wolfgang Hater, Technical Director Water, from Kurita Europe presented the positive experience obtained with film forming amines (Cetamine G850) at the Uniper triple stage CCGT power plant in UK. Furthermore, Evelyn de Meyer from the University of Ghent, Belgium, showed the first results of a joint project with Kurita on the thermal stability of film forming amines under steam generator conditions.
