Boosting Productivity, Slashing CO2 Emissions, and Saving Energy with Kurita Dropwise Condensation Technology

In steam heat exchangers, the water film on metal surfaces creates thermal resistance that hinders heat transfer. By making the metal hydrophobic and changing condensation from filmwise to dropwise, we can enhance the heat transfer coefficient by up to 30%, according to our experimental results.

This technology improves production volume and quality while operating equipment, significantly reduces CO2 emissions, and saves energy based on equipment configuration. The hydrophobic product can be continuously added to the steam line before the heat exchanger without disrupting production and does not interfere with existing water treatment processes. We proudly introduce this award-winning technology, applied in over 400 units worldwide.
