Empowering Scotland’s Youth: Kurita’s Partnership with Social Enterprise Schools

Fostering Entrepreneurial Spirit and Community Impact

Kurita is pleased to announce its collaboration with Social Enterprise Schools, an innovative programme provided to schools in Scotland by the Social Enterprise Academy. This partnership aims to offer opportunities to young students keen to make a difference in their communities.

Social Enterprise Schools allows students to establish and manage real-life social enterprises within their schools, addressing issues of importance to their communities. A highlight of this programme is the Dragons’ Den event, a pitching competition where schools present their business ideas to experts for a chance to receive seed funding. Kurita is proud to sponsor this year’s event, helping in the provision of seed funding and covering costs such as venue hire and catering.

The Social Enterprise Schools programme has supported over 1300 schools and empowered more than 2500 teachers to guide students in creating sustainable social enterprises. This initiative is inclusive, giving all students the opportunity to develop key enterprise, employability, and entrepreneurial skills.

Aligned with the Curriculum for Excellence, the programme supports school improvement plans and covers important areas such as rights respecting school awards, learning for sustainability, and the development of soft skills.

Kurita’s involvement underscores its commitment to social responsibility and community development, investing in a brighter, sustainable future for Scotland.
