Enhanced Operational Efficiency with Dilurit® BC S-System

Background

The steel mill was dealing with recurring problems in its cooling tower system. Persistent biofilm growth continually caused fouling and reduced heat‑transfer efficiency. Over time, dust and other particles adhered to the biofilm layers, making the contamination even more severe. As a result, the tower’s filling material had to be replaced frequently—typically every two years—which significantly increased operational costs.

Objectives

  • Eliminate biofilm growth in the cooling tower.
  • Prevent dust and particle adhesion to surfaces.
  • Extend the lifetime of filling material to normal maintenance intervals.
  • Reduce overall cleaning and maintenance costs.
