2. Information duties according to Art. 13 GDPR
Use of our website
Kurita Europe GmbH automatically collects and stores in its server log files information that your browser transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type/ version
- operating system used
- Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
- Host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
- Time of the server request.
Kurita Europe GmbH is not able to assign this data to specific persons. These data are not combined with other data sources and are deleted after a statistical evaluation.
Use of the Kurita Smartphone and Tablet App (iOS and Android devices only)
Our “Kurita” smartphone application is available in application stores, such as the Apple Store and the Google Play store. By using this application, you get access to unit conversion tools, as well as links to Kurita-related news, information leaflets, and events. Our unit conversion tools do not collect or process any personal user information. The application does not send or store any information about unit conversions performed by users to Kurita. News items and similar documents that are made available within the application are not personalized or targeted to individual users.
However, the application makes use of information that may, in certain contexts, constitute personal information, such as device and network information (user hardware, IP address, IP-based general geographical location, operating system version) in order to properly deliver and display content to the user within the application. We require this information to deliver the app services to your device.
Additionally, we use some of this information (user hardware, IP address, IP-based general geographical location, operating system version) in order to identify, patch, correct performance and security issues of the application, in order to safeguard our legitimate interests of maintaining a well-functioning platform.
Kurita does not directly collect or receive identifying information about app users from the application stores. We are not involved in any app download confirmations, or other application store-related communications that you may receive in your email, such communications are handled by the application stores and governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies.
Entries within the application contain links to our website, or other external sources. The app contains simple links to the company’s social networking profiles (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Youtube). Once accessed outside the Kurita app, external platforms (e.g. websites) where content is displayed are subject to their own applicable privacy policies.
You may choose to opt out of any notifications from the application through your smartphone notification settings.
Contact via E-MAIL
If you contact us via our website, personal data will also be processed and stored. By sending the contact e-mail, you consent to the processing of your transmitted data (including e-mail address and name) for the purpose of responding to your inquiry and for contact by Kurita Europe GmbH pursuant to Art. 6 I lit. b GDPR. This data will not be passed on to third parties and will be deleted immediately after contact has been made, unless this results in further purposes of use.

If you contact us via the contact form, personal data will also be processed and stored. By sending your request to contact us, you consent to the processing of your transmitted data (including e-mail address and name) for the purpose of responding to your request and to be contacted by Kurita Europe GmbH pursuant to Art. 6 I lit. b GDPR. This data will not be passed on to third parties and will be deleted immediately after contact has been made, unless this results in further purposes of use.
Newsletter
We will only process your e-mail address for our own advertising purposes and only if you have given us your express consent for this within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 item a GDPR. If you provide us with your e-mail address, we will regularly send you information about important innovations, current offers, webinars and invitations to events.
If you provide us with your e-mail address, we will first send you a confirmation link. Please click on this link to be added to the newsletter distribution list. (First name and surname are optional. This serves exclusively for personal salutation. You can revoke your consent at any time free of charge. Here you can either click on “unsubscribe newsletter here” at the end of each e-mail or send us a short message.
Kurita Europe customer portal
As a customer you can use our user forum. We will set up password-protected access for customers who have registered accordingly if you give us your express consent for this, within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 item a GDPR. For this we process the data stored by you for the creation of your customer account. In your customer account, you can not only manage your user data, but also additional information on TDS and MSDS of the products purchased by the customer and, if necessary, on their measurement and analysis data. By using the customer account, you undertake to treat the personal access data confidentially and not to make it accessible to unauthorised third parties. We cannot accept liability for misuse of passwords, unless we are responsible for the misuse. If you do not log out, you will remain logged in automatically. This feature allows you to use part of our services without having to log in again each time. For security reasons, however, you will be asked to enter your password again if, for example, your personal data is to be changed.
You can revokeyour consent free of charge at any time, unless the relevant laws, among other things, permit data processing to fulfil a contract in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR or there is a legal obligation to store such data.
Job Application process
By sending us your application documents, you provide Kurita Europe GmbH with your personal data about a specific application for the purpose of job search in accordance with Art. 6 I lit. b GDPR. Your data will be processed on our systems. During the application process, we process the following personal data, including surname, first name, home address, e-mail address, telephone numbers, cover letter, letter of motivation, CV, certificates, references and information in the application interview. This data will only be stored, evaluated, processed or forwarded internally as part of your application. They are only accessible to employees of the human resources department and the decision-makers of the respective specialist departments. Under no circumstances will your data be passed on to companies or persons outside Kurita Europe GmbH or used for other purposes. The data can be processed for statistical purposes (e.g. reporting). It is not possible to draw any conclusions about individual persons. We store your data in our application management system until the end of the application process, but not longer than 6 months. After expiration of the abovementioned period, your data will be completely deleted. If you start a job at Kurita Europe GmbH, your personal data, or an excerpt thereof if applicable, will be added to your personnel file.
Children
It is not in our interest to collect personal data from children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly or intentionally collect data about children. The processing of personal data of children is only permitted with the consent of their legal guardians. If you believe that we have collected information about your child, as a parent or guardian, you can notify us at datenschutz[at]kurita-water.com. The data will be completely deleted.
Technical and organizational measures
Kurita Europe GmbH uses technical and organisational security measures to protect your data managed by us against manipulation, loss, destruction and against access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
Secure data transmission
Your personal data is transmitted securely by encryption. This applies to our complete website. We use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) coding system.

Kurita Europe GmbH uses cookies to track the preferences of visitors and to optimize the design of its websites accordingly. The use is based on Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f. GDPR.
